The 2nd Amendment is one of our most fundamental and important natural, God given, Rights; and it is about the right to defend our-selves, family, property, community, country, and "Freedom", in all regards
We are deeply hopeful that NY's (and in other cases, the Fed's) assault on our rights can be stopped, considering the opposition by individuals, various associations, officials, and law enforcement (especially Constitutionally elected Sheriffs), locally and across the state.
With regard to law enforcement, we would remind all, that as much as we respect and support them, they are not expected to protect us from all evils, in all places, all the time, they cannot! This is just one aspect integral to the concept of the 2nd amendment, and why our right to be able to protect ones self, must not be infringed!
{For a comprehensive look at all those opposing the (un)SAFEact, see NYSAFERESOLUTIONS below}
“You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.” – Imperial Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, WWII
“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms… disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” – Cesare Beccaria, On Crimes and Punishment, (quoted by Thomas Jefferson in Commonplace Book),
“For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed militia is their best security.” – Thomas Jefferson
“Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom.” – John F. Kennedy
“A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.” ~ George Washington
“This home is protected by the good Lord and a gun…”
