Long overdue welfare reforms, finally!

Preventing Welfare Waste

State Budget Blocks EBT Card Withdrawals At Strip Clubs, Liquor Stores

Thank you State Senator Young and Assemblyman Goodell for continuing to push so hard. Been in the works for years, state democrats (esp. the NYC assembly conference) having been blocking this. But after much arm twisting to do the right thing and now the threat of the loss of federal funding, it’s finally passed and Cuomo had to sign it into law.

One thing to be understood though is that where this is a great first step it will only prevent some of the fraud and abuse that exists so we will have a long way to go. State leaders best not pat themselves on the back and call it good enough!

Fools: You should be fighting this every step of the way.

We need less of this not more. This will hurt the future for your taxpayers, as well as the ability to keep government under control generally on their behalf:

  • Hanover employees may unionize April 21, 2014 – Hanover officials are remaining tight-lipped, but a Teamster Local 264 official in Buffalo confirmed town employees have made the first step in an attempt to unionize.

(You officials ought to take a look at this article: NY – The highest level of public sector unionization of any state in the union = the highest level of discontent among residents; A direct correlation of big government, big taxes = big problems!)
